(ENGLAND)
I have recently taken over a bar and been told that the police have put an objection into our alcohol premises licence, Iโve been told there will be a hearing at the end of the month.
My business partner (one of the directors of a Ltd company) holds the personal licence and has a clean dbs record.
Me (the other director) has an unspent criminal conviction and one that is already spent. (None of the offences were serious and resulted in a community order which I complied with).
Is this something that could stop us getting a premises licence to sell alcohol as we have recently signed the lease and wonโt be able to trade without one?
Is there any ways around this legally?
