Laying cable in Neighbours front garden

Post Body

Hi all,

I live in a mid terraced property, where I am the ‘second property in’. My garage is the other side of the neighbouring property. I am looking to install an EV charger on my garage, so that I can charge my works vehicle overnight. Problem I am facing is that the owner of next door leases the property out and seems to be ignoring me. I have written several emails via the letting agents which has not been responded too.

I am going to try a hand written letter, but I am not holding out hope based on experiences so far.

In order to get an electric supply to my garage, I need to run a cable across my neighbours front garden, which is all grass. I have offered to make good any damages caused and give some reimbursement for disturbance caused.

If the property owner continues to ignore me, do I have any legal rights or action I can pursue to enable me to lay the cables required?

Just to clarify, I am in England (Somerset if that’s important).
