Legal Advice Needed: Surprising Discovery About Property Ownership

Post Body

Background:

Back in 1996, my father purchased a commercial property/ building unit with the freehold title, let's call it 999. We were aware that he also held the freehold title for 999A, a first-floor maisonette, which was on a leasehold term. However, the plot thickens - during a recent search on the land registry, I discovered that my father also holds the freehold title to 999B, which is an absolute mystery to us as it doesn't appear to have any leasehold information on the registry. This revelation has left us scratching our heads and wondering about the true extent of our property assets.

My Questions:

How should I go about investigating what exactly we own?

What should be my next steps to get a clear picture of the situation? Can we occupy that premises as we have the freehold? I.E with the documentation get a locksmith and gain entry etc

Could there be any legal implications or complications tied to this discovery?

If any of you have experience in property law or have faced a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions, or recommendations.

Thanks in advance for your help!Based in UK
