I made a domestic abuse statement to the police and they have said they would arrest my then partner within 24hrs on the basis of ABH. However at the time I was pressured to make the statement by a friend and did not feel ready yet to tell my story. My ex has not been arrested and it has been almost a month however now I am worried his papers will be effected if he was arrested. We have two kids together and since leaving we have been able to work towards a parental relationship I feel if he was to be arrested now, any relationship we were building to would be gone. Is there a way I could retract my statement completely or what could I do in order for him to not be arrested. I am safe, and at the moment happy with how life is going and I am in no way in thinking of getting back into a relationship with him I am just thinking of our kids and the cost of living I would not be able to survive if he was deported and without financial support from him for the kids.
