Car accident on icy road, nobody got blamed but now I’m screwed as I have a damaged car and no funds to fix.

Post Body

First post on here and love the subreddit,

So this morning I was commuting to work and was driving through Langley just outside Langley quarry.

The car Infront of me hit a patch of ice as did I and he slammed on the breaks, I tapped the breaks and had no traction. There was an oncoming lorry and I man the rear view mirror I saw a tipper truck loosing control so in a split second made a left turn into the ditch. I caught the car infront slightly and they have a few scratches but my car ended up in the ditch and has the front end smashed up a little and the driver door won’t open. Behind ups 3 cars piled into the tipper who had the same idea as mine and I was not hit in the rear although the two cars who collided with the tipper were written off. My car still drives but has a smashed headlight and some damaged wing and bumper and the door will not open. The police took statements and I said exactly what happened in all honesty. This all happened at about 10mph for me and the car Infront. All I want to know is is there anyway I can claim or get any compensation due to the condition of the road being an A road and ungritted and also the fact the quarry veihicles made the road a mess. I went to hospital and got a medical report as my knee is extremely swollen from hitting it in the car and my neck a little stiff… any help is massively appreciated. I’m broke and I don’t know what to do!
