Can a witness to my will be a member/officer of a hobby society that I want to leave things to?

Post Body

I've finally got around to writing a will. I realised I actually have some money and some stuff now, so figured I better get it all down.

I belong to a reenactment society, and in the event of my death I figure my group may as well get all my gear. That way it'll still get some use. However most of the people around me are members and officers of our local group. Can I still ask one of them to be a witness to my will? I mean if I die tomorrow they'll still be in post as the Group Leader. If I make it to average life expectancy...who knows lo.

Essentially it seems like a good thing for me to do, but I don't want to do something that ends up being a stupid complication for those left behind.

Any advice appreciated.

Edit: I'm in England.
