Manager is increasing my workload in order for me to resign, what are my options?

Ok, first let me apologise for any mistakes in advance, English is my second language :)

So, first I would like to give some context so that the whole situation is easier to understand:

I work as a night concierge in a residential building in London and am a part of a 4 man night team, 2 per shift. One of my colleagues got caught for sleeping into the empty apartment(which I don't do otherwise they would have sacked me too) and when he had his meeting with the management he tried to throw everyone under the bus by saying that none of us do anything, that there's no need for 2 people per shift, that me and the other colleagues are just trying to find ways to work less, that we were delegating our duties to him as he started after the three of us etc.

The guy got sacked, but ever since he had that meeting, my department manager and general manager have started to add more and more tasks which makes my job so difficult right now, as if working nights wasn't hard enough in the first place.

First thing they did is they stopped calling temporary workers in situations when one of us is on holiday or sick, which they always used to do without an exception. The manager explained it by saying that they are trying to cut the costs and that they've been told that they're using Team support (temp workers) too much as well as that the residence isn't as busy as usual with many residents being away on holiday. That didn't prevent them from getting temp worker for day shift on a couple of occasions though. While I admit that there might be parts of my 12 hour shift where it isn't as busy as usually, the size of the estate requires at least 2 people on duty in the nights without any doubt. I was working for the festive period and it was really tough with all the visitors deliveries as well as regular tasks and inspections done on a daily basis.

They have also started adding ridiculous tasks and inspections that take hours to complete and have modified the previous inspections that we used to do in a way that they are now extremely time consuming. They justified it by saying that they're mandatory health and safety inspections that have to be done regularly, which is surprising since we never did them before. The amount of tasks that are being delegated to me and my colleagues is getting bigger and bigger.

One of my colleagues from the day shift told me informally that based on his conversations with the department manager and few other people in high management he believes that their stance on the night team is that most of the things the gentleman that got sacked said are true, that we are all lazy and basically they hope for us to resign and want to achieve that by adding more and more tasks.

I'm wondering what are my options, since I can't and won't ask the guy who told me those things to expose himself and gets into trouble . I genuinely preform my job responsibly and the department manager has mentioned it to me in a multiple emails in the past year how happy he was with the job I was doing, as well as the rest of the team. I also have a good relationship with some of the residents and therefore don't want to leave this place. Would telling this story to HR do me any good? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've been feeling so sick at work lately and I need to do something as soon as I can. Very grateful in advance for any assistance!
