Evicting a Flatmate

Post Body

So my flat is in a bit of a situation. We have one flatmate that continues to pay rent and bills late. It’s not like it’s a day late it’s at least 2 days late and even been nearly a week late. It’s doing our heads in and we want them gone. They’re not signed onto the lease but we do have a flatmate sharing agreement with him. It’s the generic template off the tenancy services website and we retained the two weeks either party notice on it. However as we are now into 6 weeks of continuously being late, (I know I would’ve had him gone sooner but I’m not head tenant), we want him gone asap. But we don’t trust him to be left at the property alone after we give him notice. I’ve been advised by a friend who’s lawyer apparently said that we can boot him with no to little notice due to the fact he’s not paid rent and continues to pay late, breaching the terms of the agreement but we want to be sure so we don’t wind up at the disputes tribunal over this.

Anyone who’s able to provide advice with relative links to back up the claim please comment.

Thanks everyone
