Hello fellow redditors, I was forced to move to US on a job offer which was offered to me on 2020 jan Pre Covid . To give a background, I was interviewed by a company X in Bengaluru an was offered a base minimum package in India and they made us sign an affidavit saying we are abide to work with the company for a period of 18 months and initiated our H1B. I was picked with many other people in the US lottery process and could not travel due to Covid situation and travel restriction. Fast forward post pandemic I was in a good position and good salary in India, when this things eased up the company X contacted again and forced me to travel to US which is not beneficial to me. And I’m not liking it here in US and want to travel back to India, but they are saying they will screw my life legally, I’m scared and do not know what to do. Please suggest me and help me in this matter. There are rumours around like they did sue few people in the past. I do not want to spend my time here in US. Will I face any legal obligations.
