Post Body

I'm trying to figure out how to side load Garageband 1.4.1 onto my Gen 1 iPad.

I have a fresh restore of iOS 5.1.1, RedSn0w jailbreak, and have installed and updated Cydia.

I spent all day trying out software and googling solutions, but can't seem to figure it out.

The closest I got was installing ipaInstaller and AppSync. I FTP'd over the Garageband .ipa and then tried using ipaInstaller. It would go through the motions of an attempted install, but then error out saying I should make sure AppSync was installed (which it was).

Because the official Apple App Store won't give me the iOS 5.1.1 compatible version of Garageband, I had to hunt down an .ipa of Garageband 1.4.1 on the internet. The .ipa came from a thread (maybe here or /r/jailbreak -- don't remember exactly) and other members seemed to be able to get it to work.

I'm sure there's a way to get this to work, I just need some guidance.

Thanks!

EDIT: Finally figured this out. Or got lucky. Or a mixture of both. End result -- Garageband 1.4.1 is working on my iPad Gen 1!!!

After the fresh restore, jailbreak and Cydia install, things seemed to go smoother. I think it was just IPAInstaller and AppSync Unified that did the trick. I also installed "appinst" from the Karen repo (not sure if that was needed though). One thing I did do different this time around was use iFunBox to transfer the Garageband .IPA over to the iPad. Not sure if that made a difference. Regardless, it's working now!
