I find myself fairly divided on this issue. I understand the standard anarchist position that we need to be armed so that we can revolt, but the reality is that this isn't going to happen anytime soon. While we can fantasize about an anarchist revolution, but while we do that actual working class people are dying unnecessarily due to the gun ownership in the US. I think this is fairly clear when you look at charts that show gun ownership per capita compared to gun deaths per capita. They are positively correlated, unsurprisingly. I wonder if idealistic thinking can lead us to support policy positions which actually hurt. Although I am not attempting to be antagonistic, I will likely be playing devil's advocate to your responses so that I can work through the issues in my own mind. I'd also appreciate if you could point me in the direction of any good work on the matter. Thanks everyone!
