Should I get a broken style ps and send it to leatherman to fix the scissor spring?

I was gifted a leatherman style ps in 2022. I sadly lost it, and leatherman no longer produces the style ps. Should I buy a broken one off ebay and end it into leatherman to replace the spring? I know I can mark it as sentimental so they wont throw it away. Would this work? It’s a small leaf spring I think they have a similar spring on other tools. I’d love opinions from others on this.

EDIT: I just contacted Leatherman warranty services they said that they would replace it with a micra. Does anyone know if you can buy replacement parts and do it yourself?
