How do so many good guitarists have nice looking fingers without callus?
Post Body

My callus on my fingertips for my fret hand, are just sooo thick. They cause this scraping noise when my fingers touch the strings, or change chord progressions or do fingerstyle, and the scape noise is so annoying.

What can I do to keep my fingertips strong, but without the callus? Do people just use fingernail clippers? Or shave them down with a nail file?
