First year Japanese Major, any advice?

Post Body

Hey all, I'm a first year Japanese Major and it's my dream to one day be fluent in Japanese and one day work in localization for video games/anime/ etc. My uni uses the Genki textbooks (one of the authors of the textbook is actually my Japanese teacher!) but besides that I've been trying to learn more on my own, such as watching anime w/o subs, watching footage of Japanese games and trying to translate menus and dialogue and stuff, etc. I'm also planning to study abroad junior year. Anyone have any other tips? And classes they would recommend I take? Thanks!!
