As the title says my first army will be votann I love the aesthetic and lore and they are my current favorite. However I’ve been hearing how they are broken and not fun to play against. At the same time I want to build a fun opposing force so my friend can play with me and he wants space marines. My question is out of the combat patrols who would be the best gameplay wise against votann? I’m not overly competitive I like playing games out but I don’t want to accidentally pick something that will be getting steamrolled every game. I know custodes are probably going to do well but the other boxes throw me and I’m not well enough versed to know what’s good and what’s not. I know with 10th edition coming up everything’s changing and we won’t know how it will be effected but any advice is greatly appreciated.
