I have left corporate and did retail and now have been offered a customer service job that allows me time to complete my pre requisites for Nursing. I want NOTHING else to do with ā€œCorporate American.ā€ Itā€™s definitely not the American Dream the sold us years ago, Iā€™m going seeking job security at this point.

And you are right, the moral was very low, the back stabbing to save their job and micro management was too much for me.

Yes, EVERYONE I know is catching it. I feel bad for the people with kids, car payments, mortgages and student loans. I hate to say this but people who lose these high paying jobs, canā€™t handle it and they want to maintain their ā€œthingsā€ so bad that they wonā€™t settle and I think we will see an increase in family unalivings coming in the near future.

Because Nursing will always need some type of human interaction. Yes there are robots that do surgeries but there are so many different avenues you can go into Nursing, substance abuse, mental health, infectious diseases, nicu, ER, which all involves some type of human interaction. Even the Telehealth involves human interaction, Iā€™m sure a system can be designed to prescribe medication etc but in person is definitely better because people can and will lie using automated systems but not so much faced with a physician. Plus, the risk of a system prescribing the incorrect medication is too much of a liability for a company. People would lie and say, ā€œI didnā€™t press that button or say that.ā€ When the entire phone call is recorded when they are told this at the beginning of the call, so it will definitely different. Plus, we have an aging society because people are living longer. Hospice Nursing is in the rise. Again, soooooo many avenues with Nursing. I already have degree in Psychology and a Male and have been told by current Nurses and recruiters that after passing the NCLEX, I could get a job in Psych Nursing within days or and offer in my last semester before even finishing. And can transition into travel Nursing after two years.
