I have always taken my pessimism home with me. It probably makes me good at this job. But right now there is a tornado of doom ripping everything apart. The Trump v US decision absolutely broke me. I canāt possibly overemphasize how bad this is. And I canāt talk to anyone about it because everyone gravitates toward optimism, and I have none. I strongly suspect that this will get deleted soon because āpoliticsā. Whatever. We canāt live in a world where law is for suckers and power eclipses accountability. We have a special responsibility as guardians of the Constitution to resist what is coming.

The exclusion of evidence when proving intent behind official acts is completely indefensible. Every single immunity provision there is comes with some kind of qualifier for illegal conduct; this decision went out of its way to avoid carving that out, which is tantamount to encouragement of criminal activity.
