I just bought a trailer full of lawn equipment (smallish zero turn, echo trimmer, edger, backpack blower and hedge trimmer). I’m trying to transition over to self employment as my regular job has slowed down a lot. I’m looking for any and all advice on running the business itself. I know we are coming up on a slower time of year here in Northwest Florida, but I am offering some other services as well to fill in the slower season (hopefully). I’m also somewhat unfamiliar with the growing season here for mowing frequency, etc. Number one question is how to generate leads? I had a couple hundred flyers printed and plan to put boots on the ground in some of the subdivisions locally. I have created a facebook page but I don’t want to use it for fear of seeming “spammy”. I really don’t know anyone in this area so I have that working against me too. One thing I did do is mow for my neighbors free of charge in hopes of some word of mouth advertising. I’m not panicked at the point as I have just started the journey but if anyone has any advice to just get a foot in the door I will gladly take it!!! Thanks for reading my ramblings!!! 😂😂
