So we have an upcoming event and weβre actively looking for sponsors. One of the benefits that the team plan to offer as part of sponsorship packages is to give the sponsors a copy of the info of the attendees for marketing purposes (contact number, email). But they are planning to put a checkbox/disclaimer or smth upon registration that they give the event the consent to handle their data for them to be updated to latest offers of their partners.
Question: is this against the Data Privacy Act or not? And if yes, is the disclaimer enough to avoid violation of the law? Or are there any other ways to make this work? Just genuinely curious because it might become an issue later on. Thanks in advance! π
