I need career advice please. I'm a paralegal, bachelor's degree with almost 7 years experience--almost all in Collections. About half was the Litigation side and Half was the settled and paid in full and garnishment side. 6 months contract Personal Injury side. My ultimate goal is simply to move up to being able to support a spouse and kid.
I have two job offers. 1 is a Paralegal for a State Department of Education in an Administrative Court. Responsibilities include
- Track complaints in electronic filing system.
- Draft email correspondence and follow up communication.
- Review, analyze and interpret case materials.
- Implement and coordinate hearing and settlement orders.Â
- Examine and create files for new legal claims.
Second offer is a Legal Administrative Assistant at a PI firm. I would learn a lot more the entire process of a Personal Injury Case, but I'd also be performing basic Admin duties, scanning, mailing, making binders etc as well.
I need someone smarter than me to tell me which is better experience long run so I know I'm not being biased.
