How to clean out my hood?

As the title reads, I’m trying to figure out how to clean out my inflatable latex hood that comes with a breathing tube. The problem isn’t how to clean the outside or actual hood itself, but the tube is giving me problems. I’ve noticed Everytime after I used my hood, I would end up getting sick for a week with congestion and build up with a nasty deep cough. Any advice would be appreciated on how to avoid this or what to use, thank you!
