Is everything okay in offline ?

Hi !
I never played the game before and was interested for 1.0. Now I can see the bad review on steam, and reading it I saw that people are talking about bug and connectivity issues, mostly. Is this only for the online mode or is everything else good on offline ? It's really hard to know if the game is good for me right now (I don't care about online) or if should just wait.
