Thoughts on engraving PS5 case?

I just got my S1 so naturally I want to engrave everything in my house to practice on lol. My question is does anyone have any experience engraving plastics? I'm particularly interested in engraving my PS5 case. Am I able to do it safely with just the 40 watt laser or do I need to get the IR laser before I can do stuff like that?
