Considering a Career as an EMT/Paramedic in Las Vegas - Seeking Advice
Post Body

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Las Vegas (18 months), and My girlfriend is moving here soon. She is thinking about pursuing a career as an EMT/paramedic. I wanted to reach out to the local community to get some insights from those who are currently working in the field here.

A few specific concerns we have: 1. Safety: She’s quite petite, and we’re a bit worried about the physical demands and potential safety risks of the job.

  1. Las Vegas Heat: How do you manage working in the extreme temperatures, especially during summer?

  2. Traffic: Does the heavy traffic in the city make the job significantly more challenging or stressful?

  3. Work Environment: How are your bosses and coworkers?

  4. Pay: Would you consider your pay fair? (As much as anyone can lol)

Any advice or experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated. We’re trying to get a realistic picture of what she might expect before she makes her decision.

Thanks in advance!
