Laptops for traveling/backpacking?

Post Body

I want to get a new Windows (I don't like Macs) laptop that I can easily take with me traveling. The obvious first thought is "smallest and lightest" I can find for maximum portability. But that still leaves questions about CPU, RAM, etc.

I'm hoping to try out the digital nomad life somehow, not just a holiday but extended road time. I'll need a decently powerful machine and I'm not sure I could really work on a 13in display so I'm leaning toward a 14inch ultrabook. Very possibly a 2in1 that converts to a tablet.

I'm curious what other people use and if they are happy with them. Is anyone working on a 2in1 for example? And is it worth the extra expense? What kind CPU/RAM levels should I look for to make sure it's not under powered? Etc.
