I removed this large grain bin from a friends farm a couple years ago and had no idea what to do with it. I got a call a few months ago from a couple in Atlanta that wanted some kind of outdoor living space with a country vibe. Immediately the huge grain bin came to mind so I proposed cutting it open and running utilities such as electrical, gas and water out to the area where the bin would sit. After about 10 cutting discs later I decided to tackle the project with an oxy/acetylene torch and I had it cut open in no time. Had to put some tack welds down but nothing major. 7 days later the project was done. What do you guys think?
Looks like a pretty solid use of an old granary! Is that chimney functional (I assume it is)?
