Water leak
Post Body

Hi guys, question about a leak on an older defender. Noticed a water leak the other day, assumed it was coming from one of the main pipes where it had been rubbing on a hose stay bracket, brought some pupe repair tape as a temp fix until I can get new hose set delivered. Took the hose off today, cleaned it up, taped over the area I thought it was weeping from, refitted everything and still had a leak. Took it all off again, taped the whole section of hose, cleaned all the limescale & gunk of the metal end, replaced the jubilee clips for new ones, refitted everything and still have a leak. The water is running down the hose with the shiney tape on, but is warm whereas the hose i removed & taped is cold. I can't really get my hand to the metal section I'm pointing to in the 2nd pic when the engine is running without losing knuckles or fingers to the fan or belt, so I don't know if water is coming from anywhere further up.

Anyone any ideas on what to look at or check next? The leak is just a steady drip and seems to slow when I give the engine some revs.

She is a D reg 2.5TD, if that helps.

Thanks
