When I moved in last year, rent was $850 and pet rent was $100. The building has tandem parking and I started sharing a slip (1 of 2 spots) at $75. The person I shared a spot with moved out, so I started paying $150. A couple months ago, the LL notified us that rent was increasing by $100. This leaves me at $1100 according to my math. Meanwhile there was a unit vacancy and a full slip available. The LL messages me that I would be losing my spot because the new tenants have 2 cars. I defended myself and ended up keeping the slip, but LL claims he thought I was still sharing with the tenant who had moved out months ago and the slip would now be $300. So my parking spot doubled! I’m reeling from that and I ask for clarification, how much I owe for rent and the parking slip and he says $1200 plus $300. Where did that extra $100 come from?! I’m afraid to ask for further clarification because when I did he came up with another $100 on top. What should I do?! I have nothing in writing except my original paperwork agreeing to $950.
