Landlord Hires Cheapest HVAC tech...

Post Body

So, for the third summer in a row in a heat wave our AC unit crapped out. Landlord had us sweat for three days because he was out of town and he MUST be present for any repairs. He usually brings some guy he knows that's a handyman but he said HVAC wasn't his forte.

HVAC guy shows up, looks at the unit, comes back inside and pulls our HVAC filter which was changed two weeks ago. He clicks his tongue, puts his hand on his hip and says...this is probably your problem right here. You have to change this regularly. It drains your Freon. (What 😂😅)

He walks outside, tries to fill the Freon and got super agitated to the point of making us uncomfortable. He was ranting about the filter. He asked how often we change it, we told him once a month when the bill is due for the electric, helps us remember to do it. He said.."There's no way, this hasn't been changed in months. Theres no Freon in this unit. It's not running right or cooling."

He went outside to speak with the landlord then left. Landlord just leaves without saying anything. Landlord texts and says he will be by later in the evening when it cools off because it's too hot to be outside. Uh..thanks? We're INSIDE with no AC. But sure, head on home to your AC to cool off for a bit..

Landlord shows up around 7pm, brings someone different and they leave quickly after. This morning he says they have to replace the whole unit outside and will fix it Monday.

Sure wish I would have replaced that filter weekly. s/

Update: landlord is bringing one window unit for one bedroom. 😂
