My landlord sold the building that I live in and the new owners want to move us out.
Post Body

Now that’s the new owners bought the house, my landlord typed up a 30 day to quit letter. He asked us to sign it and return it. Is this how that’s suppose to be done? Doesn’t he have to go through the court and have it delivered through the sheriffs department? Or is that just for evictions? Now I have to find a new place (that accepts dogs) so it’s kind of difficult and I was told that if we can’t find a new place within 30 days, we will have to go to court for it and we’ll have more time to find a place so I’m not too worried. I just want to make sure what he’s doing on his end is the right way to do it? This is in Massachusetts by the way
