Had a tenant that appears to have intentionally obscured damage to appliances such that they "seemed" to work during the check out inspection but failed in the first week or so of new tenant occupancy.
Pretty sure this was not the new tenant as the old tenant is already losing the deposit and liable for several thousand dollars of other damage.
Has anyone had this occur before where it's obvious that the prior tenants did a minor repair to cover up damage?
Is the obscured damage cost something that a judge would likely award given the circumstances of the thousands of dollars in other damages including trashed appliances and cabinets?
