Texas.
So. Long story short I am on medication. On this medication, yesterday I tried to microwave some food but did something wrong and the microwave itself began to smoke. The total cook time was 3 minutes but the smoke was very strong. Like, if you had a fog machine inside a microwave.
I cleaned everything up. The smoke smell lingers but it is not strong at all anymore. I am concerned because I live an apartment and I don't know how much if any traveled through the vents. I have 1 hospital-grade air purifier and a commercial fan running, washed the walls, washed the cabinets with multiple certified cleaning products. I should mention I left the apartment and slept elsewhere overnight.
I am not a smoker. I am not used to the smoke smell. I can honestly say the smell only lingers and is not strong. It is equivalent to a designated smoking area. Like, you can certainly tell smoke was present but it is not in your nose. A 3-4 on a scale of 10, compared to 10/10 yesterday. It should be 0.
The appliance was thrown out. I have personally ordered and paid for the exact model replacement and licensed installation for this Saturday..
Could I still be evicted for this? I am so concerned. I am a good tenant but I have been incredibly out of it lately. Texas.
