So my D2 suddenly wouldn’t start last week. Troubleshooted the basic stuff (battery, alternator, starter) and still nothing. I got it to start once and it sounded ROUGH. Like something metal was rattling inside the engine, and my throttle was unresponsive/very delayed.
So I had it towed to the local LR specialist and they took a look. Waited a week and was pretty much set on having to rebuild the engine - figured I’d spun a bearing or something. Honestly haven’t missed driving a car so much in only one week. Made me think of all the memories I’ve had in this truck so far - driving across Canada, sleeping/living in it for the summer, etc.
Got a call today and turns out it was the crank shaft sensor! And a very large exhaust leak lol. Besides the cost being much lower than expected, I was so so psyched to have the truck back. Moment I got it back, took her to the car wash and drove home blasting some 2Pac with the windows down (middle of winter here in Canada btw). Best feeling ever. Enjoy these vehicles while you can guys. I think we definitely take for granted what we have sometimes.
