So obviously I'm an idiot - no question here. I completely forgot to to grease my driveshaft despite knowing it was a common point of failure. I purchased the truck in Jan 2021. The shaft was rebuilt in 2019 with grease fittings and the previous owner greased the driveshaft before handing the vehicle over to me. Since then I've put on about 30,000km over the 2 years. I do a oil/filter change twice a year. No mudding or anything. Mostly highway driving. Cats removed as well.
This post on landroverforums: https://landroverforums.com/forum/general-tech-help-8/propshaft-rebuild-29302/
recommends having the propshafts rebuilt if you haven't greased it properly every 5000 miles. This seems overkill to me.. but I know it is a maintenance thing to keep these things running healthy.
I was planning on tackling it this weekend, but now this post has me worried. Is a rebuild actually needed? Or just grease them and go about my day?
Thanks guys.
