Hello ladies! Im an archaeologist, and one of the fun toys my school has for us to use in research is a magnetometer. A friend of mine, who is incidentally not a female, is the local expert on the machine. We went out to use the magnetometer on a survey and he told me I couldn't wear any metal. At first I was all like, oh yeah that's fine. Then he pointed out that means no shoes with metal aglets, no jeans with metal rivets and no metal surgical implants... I was getting dressed the morning of and I realized, no bras with metal underwires! And what about my IUD? Oh my god! Magnetometers are sexist! Kidding.
Except seriously (and also TLDR) can I use a magnetometer even though I have a copper IUD?
