I work in the Quality Control department of a well-known laboratory supply manufacturer as a microbiologist. I'm currently a temp, but vying for a permanent position so I want to make a good impression with the work I'm doing.
I recently worked on a side project looking into why our environmental sampling of the floor surface was coming back so terrible with contamination, despite supposedly being a clean environment. I have the results from that, and it's really cool (our mop supplier changed their product from sterile to non-sterile, awesome) so now I get to write a report.
But... I'm not sure exactly how I should format it. Do I just write a lab report? Explain the methodology, the results and the reasoning behind the conclusions I drew with my supervisors? That's going to be my game plan, I just want to make sure it's what will be desired. Previously my work was in academic research (I have my masters) and in the public sector working for a state health lab and all of our reporting was pretty standard and automated form filling. Even here with my normal work, the reporting is incredibly structured. But I'm recognizing that this is not a standard deal.
Thanks in advance for any help!
