Hello.

I want to be able to use custom fonts in my document. I hoped that just dumping the .ttf files and loading fontspec would work, but I fear I fell into a much deeper rabbit hole.

The following mwe does not compile:

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{fontspec}
\begin{document}
asdasd
\end{document}

and in fact gives the following errors:

riga 112: Font \TU/lmr/m/n/10=[lmroman10-regular]: tlig; at 10pt not loadable: metric data not found or bad. ...lt\familydefault\seriesdefault\shapedefault
riga 3907: Font \TU/lmr/bx/n/10=[lmroman10-bold]: tlig; at 10pt not loadable: metric data not found or bad. \strongfontdeclare{ \bfseries }

Removing the fontspec line makes everything work again.

What can I do? Is there another way to use custom otf and ttf files?
