My experience with LSD, Zoloft and Lorazepam.
Post Body

Hello fellow explorers!

I’m writing this trip report/summary to share my recent experience on LSD and 100mg Sertraline (Zoloft). I’m sharing this for anyone that is taking Zoloft and is wondering how it will affect the LSD trip, or you’re worried about serotonin syndrome. I’m a semi-experienced tripper but this was the first-time tripping since starting Zoloft. I also wanted to share this because I couldn’t get any clear answers when searching for this interaction.

To begin, I’ve tripped about 10-15 times on LSD with doses ranging from 75ug – 400ugish. My last trip was about 4 months ago. I began taking Zoloft 50mg about three months ago, I’d been having a lot of anxiety which was becoming very bothersome – none related to LSD or psychedelics. I upped my dose to 100mg after taking Zoloft for about 1.5 months. I felt it was helping me greatly and my anxiety was going down bigtime, I also felt like I was ready to trip again soon.

I decided to plan a trip and began doing my research on SSRI’s and LSD. I found a lot of conflicting information; some people were saying to completely stay away from mixing SSRIs with LSD. Others were saying its safe but dulls the trip, and some were suggesting stopping SSRIs a few days/weeks before tripping. I was a bit nervous to trip, but I figured it would be safe considering serotonin syndrome is considered rare.

I only skipped 1 dose of Zoloft the night before my trip. I took 2 gel tabs which were supposed to be around 150ug each with 2 friends, one tripped and the other was just hanging out. After an hour I began feeling the come up, I knew something was going on and I began feeling jittery. Around this time, I’m usually a nervous mess but it felt like the Zoloft was helping that tremendously. About 1 ½ hours in the colors, numbers and letters on my phone were beginning to wiggle and change colors. We started playing GTA V and had the room set up with a night light projectors and LEDs.

Things got more intense when we started listening to electronic music on YouTube and watching trippy videos. The conversations got interesting also, talking about AI, programming, politics, our reptilian overlords etc. it was an intense experience, I felt so powerful both physically and mentally. I felt almost no anxiety at all, which is not normal for me on LSD. The rest of the trip was great as well, I was able to walk outside and interact with other people normally without fear which I’ve never done on acid. I did feel like the trip was dulled; it did not feel like 300ug. It felt closer to 200ug, which was due to the Zoloft because I’ve had these tabs before I started taking Zoloft and they felt a lot stronger.

Overall, I felt no symptoms of serotonin syndrome, I had an amazing anxiety free trip. I definitely think the Zoloft dulled the trip though, 2 tabs felt like 1. Please don’t take my experience and mix SSRIs with LSD, I’m only sharing this to provide some additional information for anyone on SSRIs wanting to trip. To add to everything, I’m also prescribed Lorazepam 0.5mg for severe anxiety. I rarely ever take them but keep them on hand incase of a bad trip. After about 10 hours I was not tripping anymore and wanted to sleep. I decided to take one 0.5mg Lorazepam to sleep. It worked like MAGIC; within 30 minutes I was asleep and slept for 7 good hours. Woke up SUPER FRESH and ready for the world!

Much love!
