Howdy, so like the title says. Serious post. I'm a 22 year old frequent weed user (primarily edibles) and have done some uppers in the past (wasn't a fan). Most in my friend group are at least occasional psychonauts and I frequently attend drug-friendly concerts and parties. I'm extremely interested in acid and have been for years but I've always been concerned. My maternal grandmother was schizophrenic but has since passed away. Hers seemed to be trauma-related as she never touched drugs. However, I do have a cousin, also on my mom's side, who is severely schizophrenic and (according to family lore), his schizophrenia was only unlocked after heavy drug use (my uncle always said too much acid and angel's trumpet). He's currently in a long term psych ward.

I've heard many a tale of schizophrenia and acid and all my reading has mixed results. So, honestly, should I stay safe and steer clear? I've held out for a long time but my curiosity is very strong. Is this actually as much of a concern as I think it is or is it mostly fearmongering? Is the risk too great? I appreciate any help. Trust me I'm interested but it's not worth losing my mind over. Don't wanna end up like Syd Barrett 😅
