Rear driver side clunk while braking hard
Post Body

I recently got an 04 LS 430 Modern Luxury with 100k miles and it came with this issue. There is clunk every time I brake hard and only when the car comes to a complete stop. An independent mechanic looked at it and could not find an issue. They suggested it may be the strut thatโ€™s going out but could not be sure. I took the car to a Toyota dealership and they showed me that there is some movement of the control arm and strut when braking hard. They said the bushing might be going out but they suggested replacing the control arm and the strut to fix this issue.

Has anyone here experienced this issue? Could the control arm bushing solve this issue or do I need to replace the control arms and the strut as well.
