CX series and Channel 4 on demand in the UK

Hi,
For UK users:
I have a LG OLED CX48 which I love. I know LG have never had the "All 4" app on this model, so I used to watch channel 4 content via the web browser. This worked well for the first few years.
However, sometime this year, that became impossible. The bulk of the web page displayed, but video content wouldn't display.
I PRESUME this is a codec / format change by the broadcaster, which the web browser on the CX can't handle?
Keen to get a definitive answer on this one!
