C3 vs G3 - is the added brightness worth it?
Post Body

Looking to buy either a 65" C3 or 65" G3, just wondering if the added brightness from MLA on the G3 is worth the extra $700. I'll be using it for watching 4K blu ray movies only (well some regular blu rays as well) in a light controlled room, to where I can make it pitch black.

When I viewed them both in person at Best Buy, it was night and day difference between the two, and the C3 looked pretty dim compared to the G3, IMO. But my question is, is this only the case because I was comparing them side by side, along with the fact I was in a bright store with lights? I was drawn to G3 a lot more, and it just "popped" out more. I'm also a sucker for a bright TV.

But I've heard some people say that their C3 (or even C2) is plenty bright enough for their dark bedroom, and in fact they have to turn down the brightness. My only fear is that if I get the C3, I might have FOMO of the brighter, better picture the G3 provides.

But on the other hand, if I go with the G3, I'll be spending an extra $700 plus the cost to buy a stand (since I don't want to wall mount it) which could've gone towards a better sound bar or home theater seating that I eventually would like to get. But I also don't want to regret not spending the extra money to get the better picture quality.

Any thoughts and advice is appreciated.
