SuperSU sold off, should I change my root?

I heard the new owner is possibly not as trustworthy and the Play store is asking for more permissions.
I'm still using 5.0.1 (I thought I was on 5.1.1 but I guess I didn't update after a downgrade), because I don't like the way MM handles OTG.
Should I change to another root method, can I?
