[Discussion] Valid excuses for traveling long distances by myself?

So basically I live a few states away from my bf which sucks but I'm planning on visiting him... The problem is, idk what to tell my parents. I can pay for the flight there by myself and I'm 18, but I still live with my parents and they would want to know why I'm flying to a different state. They definitely wouldn't let me go if they knew I had a BF there, so does anyone have any ideas for excuses? Advice appreciated :(

(Note: I've known my bf for a while and have met him irl before and I love him very much, so this isn't some spontaneous thing im doing out of the blue)
