Asalamualaikum everyone, I've been struggling for some time about the fact that I'm Bisexual. I would like some advice on how to deal with this issue. Let me briefly explain the issue in full detail.
Both my mom and I converted to Islam a few years ago. My mom about a year or 2 before me. Before then we were both Christian. The rest of our family is Christian. So anyway, a few years before converting I had come out to my mom as Bisexual. She had a hard time dealing with it. Till this day we don't talk about it to avoid any arguments. At the time we would get into big arguments about the topic she would say what I was doing was a sin and I would respond back according to what I knew about Christian theology. However now that we're both Muslim I'm finding it way way more difficult to argue my side of things. She has always had the view that homosexuality is a sin, regardless of her religion. My question is how do I handle this? Does anyone here have any experience with this? Were you able to convince your parents to eventually accept you? I'm afraid she'll never fully accept my sexuality.
