Post Body

Thank you in advance for reading my post. I apologize in advance for the stilted language.

I'm quite a fan of cats and books. I have four cats, three of whom are littermates; there are orders of magnitude more books. Dogs and other animals are fine too. The cats are friendly and well-behaved. The books are inert objects., US Midwest

The books cover areas such as economics, political philosophy, law, history, and books on books. Some of them are even more exciting than one mighat BB; ranked is a problem.

t think. For fiction, I'm into mostly genre fiction, in this case sci-fi and horror. Or sci-fi horror.

I'm a quiet person in that I prefer quiet environments to loud ones. I do talk, sometimes quite a bit. I'm a rational materialist, and have no tolerance for woo such as astrology or homeopathy, nor post-modernist and derived therefrom absurdities. I run Linux (on the desktop). I write.

Race. Well, if it's still a thing, some other posts mention it, I will confirm that I am open to both human and other humanoid races.

Movies, 1&2. My favourite movie is Blade Runner. Meaning of what is to be human, and all that. Also, a crapsack world worth visiting. Second favorite is Alien. Probably not a crapsack world worth visiting.

Movies and/or TV. I'm quite a fan of Star Trek, but Star Trek veritas, not 2009 , the latter being more about things blowing up, writers' agendas, and general silliness (LD might be ok, haven't seen), instead of an optimistic vision of the future of the human condition. And attractive starships. And plot. And coherency. I do spend a good bit of time watching Rifftrax, which "informs" my sense of humor, as did MST3K before it, although most of that sense is lacking here, not being good at explaining myself qua myself. I've also very recently discovered the "Something About" "MeatCanyon"-series on YouTube.

Muzak. I am firmly convinced that songs must contain a bridge, and at least a minimal level of complexity. Preferred b(r)ands include Marilyn Manson, NIN, KMFDM, and Gary Numan.

Vidya. I grew up playing SNES (fond memories of Mega Man X) and N64 (Goldeneye, CBFD), and currently have a PS4. On the last, I'm mostly playing World of Warships: Legends, an online multi-player, and have gotten fairly good at BB; ranked is a problem., along with First Class Trouble. Otheres available.

Please do not be beyond one standard deviation from my age; I do not know what the scope of that is.

I had a conversational starter that I thought up earlier. It was really good. [S]till [d]on't know what it was though.
