Can you tell i’m confused lol I’ve downloaded the Divine Office app and it’s pretty cool, has beautifully done audio of the entire divine office, and I understand it’s meant to be prayed throughout the day at different hours like Morning (Laud) and Evening etc.

But what’s the purpose of the daily readings sent out by the USCCB?

And what is the Liturgy of the Word (since it seems like the daily readings sent out by the USCCB aren’t actually part of that at all)?

Feels like i might’ve jumped the gun and skipped to level 10 catholic with the Divine Office when meanwhile i’m not totally clear on the other daily readings and reflections haha
