She did a great job tbh!! Here's the full letter below:
Dear Father,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is [Your Name] and I am writing to you today to introduce myself and to express my interest in starting an LGBTQ ministry group within our Catholic community.
I understand that the Church has historically held a traditional view on issues related to sexuality and gender, and that this view may not be in line with the beliefs and experiences of some members of the LGBTQ community. However, I also believe that it is important for all members of our community to feel welcome and accepted, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
I recognize that this may be a controversial topic, and I respect your role as a leader within the Church. I hope that we can have an open and honest dialogue about the importance of creating a more inclusive and welcoming community for all, even if we may not agree on all matters related to LGBTQ issues.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this idea with you further and to see if there is a way for us to work together to create a more loving and accepting environment for all members of our community.
Sincerely, [Your Name]

I'm in the Diocese of Des Moines that was recently in the news for an awful transphobic policy update and I would like to start something at the church I've visited, but I'm nervous (and I'm lowkey thinking of moving to Chicago) so we'll see.
