Any MMORPG that might closely match my experience with Puzzle Pirates many moons ago?
Post Body

I played a lot of Puzzle Pirates many, many years ago, and it really was fantastic. The player economy, the houses, the cosmetics, and the puzzles were unique and fun.

But the best part was the team work required when going on a pillage. Where you would join a ship, and the captain would delegate people to sails, or guns, or repairing. During the course of a run there would be shouts of "need more sails", or "repairs needed" and it really took communication and working together to get a balance of the different jobs required.

As a jobber, you could mix up what sort of role you wanted to do depending on how you felt, and you really did get instant and satisfying feedback when you were puzzling well. Being able to jump to different stations also meant you could fill it around the place as required, and if you were really could you could really carry the whole boat (although a lot harder to do it on your own as the ships got bigger). Being a captain was also amazing, and you could really bring a crew together with good communication. Huge pillys would be chaotic.

Then there was crews, and the different ranks and politics around that, and also the flags.

So, is there any MMORPG that has that similar reliance of working together to achieve common goals, and I think also important has the flexibility to change the sort of role you perform? For example in so many RPGs you build a certain character, and you're essentially stuck performing that similar role for a long time. I'd like something with more flexibility so it doesn't get stale.

The gameplay needs to be fun, and but can be anything. Doesn't need to be puzzling. Its more the teamwork and flexibility that made it something special.
