I broke up with her because I realised I couldn't do open relationship anymore
Post Body

We spent 3 months together before she was supposed to leave for a year abroad to another continent for studies. We were deeply in love with each other. Both of us had instant chemistry and absolutely amazing sex. However, one year is really long to be without sex or physical contact.

We initially wanted open relationship mutually. However, I later realised it'll be too painful to picture her with other guys. She was not choosing monogamy and asking for too much time.

So, I broke up with her and told her that if she wishes to explore other men, she can do so but I won't be with her while she does this, it's too painful for me. We still love each other and hope to reconnect when she is back.

Has anyone broken off due to long distance and re-connected and it worked out?

Has anyone been in a long distance open relationship? Was I weak that let fear and insecurity destroy my relationship?
